The Waters XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl HPLC-/UHPLC column 150x10mm, 5µm, is based on CSH hybrid particles and features a phenyl-hexyl modification. Chromatographically, the Waters XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl is designed for use in reversed-phase chromatography. The phase combines hydrophobic and aromatic interactions and weights RP interactions more strongly than Lewis-base interactions. Application areas of the Waters XSelect CSH Phenyl-Hexyl include aromatic active substances, selectivity screening, pharmaceutical impurities and LC–MS method development.
XSelect combines two deliberately different particle platforms. CSH uses a BEH hybrid framework with a controlled positive surface charge and is specifically designed to provide good peak shapes and increased loading capacity for basic compounds. HSS is based on high-strength silica and often provides stronger retention as well as different selectivities than BEH or CSH phases. C18, phenyl-hexyl, fluoro-phenyl, T3, PFP, and cyano offer a broad range of method development options; specialized peptide phases extend these concepts to bioanalytical separations.
