Product Description

The Waters IC-Pak C M/D HPLC column 150x2.1mm, 10µm, is based on a silica-based matrix with a polybutadiene/maleic acid copolymer coating and possesses cation-exchange functionality for mono- and divalent cations. In cation chromatography the Waters IC-Pak C M/D is used and separates analytes by charge-dependent interactions. The M/D phase is designed for the simultaneous isocratic analysis of monovalent and divalent cations. The application range of the Waters IC-Pak C M/D includes lithium, sodium, ammonium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, strontium and barium in aqueous samples.

Features and Benefits

  • Anion, cation, and ion-exclusion phases
  • Polymer- and silica-based support materials
  • Variants with different capacities
  • Phases for monovalent and divalent cations
  • For routine water and complex matrices

Additional Information

IC-Pak includes several types of materials for ion chromatography. The anion phases are based on functionalized polymer resins with quaternary ammonium groups and differ, among other things, in resolution and capacity. For cations, sulfonated polymer materials as well as the C M/D phase on coated silica are available. IC-Pak Ion Exclusion uses a highly sulfonated resin and separates weak acids via ion exclusion and distribution effects. Since the packing material and separation mechanism vary within the brand, the guard column must always be selected with the same phase.
