The Waters Oasis MAX SPE cartridge is built on a polymeric HLB backbone and features a strong anion-exchange functionality combined with reversed-phase retention. Waters Oasis MAX was developed for separations in mixed-mode SPE. The MAX chemistry is suitable for acidic analytes that can be bound simultaneously by hydrophobic and anionic interactions. Waters Oasis MAX is used, among other things, for organic acids, acidic pharmaceuticals, environmental contaminants, food analysis and LC–MS sample cleanup.
Oasis sorbents are based on a macroporous copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidone and divinylbenzene. This backbone is water-wettable and stable when exposed to strongly acidic and alkaline samples. Oasis HLB utilizes hydrophilic and lipophilic retention components; MCX, MAX, WCX, and WAX combine this polymer base with strong or weak cation- or anion-exchange groups. PRiME HLB is designed for simplified workflows and reduced matrix interference. The selection depends on the charge state, polarity, matrix, and desired elution profile.
