Product Description
The Waters CORTECS Shield RP18 HPLC-/UHPLC column 75x3.0mm, 1.6µm, is based on solid-core particles and possesses an embedded polar group in an octadecylsilyl phase (other designations: ODS, RP-18, C18). The Waters CORTECS Shield RP18 is used in reversed-phase chromatography. The shield phase provides alternative selectivity and good peak shape for phenolic and basic compounds. The application range of the Waters CORTECS Shield RP18 includes basic APIs, phenols, method development and fast UHPLC separations.

Additional Information
CORTECS columns are packed with surface-porous solid-core particles. A dense core is surrounded by a porous outer layer, resulting in shorter diffusion paths and high separation efficiency at comparatively moderate backpressure compared to fully porous particles. The series includes classic C18 and C8 phases, the polar-retentive T3 chemistry, Shield RP18, Phenyl, and HILIC. C18+ and Premier versions complement the solid-core base with surface or hardware technologies for challenging basic and metal-affine analytes.
