The QuEChERS Pesticide I push-through SPE column is designed as a classic non-dispersive QuEChERS variant for fruit and vegetable samples. After acetonitrile extraction the supernatant is passed through QuEChERS Pesticide I, reducing typical pigments, organic acids and other matrix components. The fixed-bed column format replaces the addition of loose dSPE sorbents; shaking and repeated centrifugation are therefore not required. QuEChERS Pesticide I is available for both manual processing and in an automation version specifically adapted to the FREESTYLE QuEChERS system. The cleaned extracts can then be used for LC-MS/MS or, with appropriate solvent management, for GC-MS methods.

The QuEChERS Pesticide columns adapt the standard dispersive QuEChERS cleanup to a solid-phase flow-through format. The extract is passed through a sorbent combination tailored to the matrix class; the exact composition of the packing is not generally disclosed by the manufacturer. Since no loose sorbent is added to the extract, the additional shaking and centrifugation steps are eliminated. This improves the standardization of the workflow and reduces the carryover of matrix residues into LC-MS/MS or GC-MS systems. The choice between Pesticide I, II, and III depends on the presence of pigments, fats, and other matrix contaminants.
