The AflaCLEAN SMART immunoaffinity column transfers the selective clean-up of aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2 to a particularly compact column format. The small bed volume allows sample loading, washing and elution to be completed in less than ten minutes; at the same time solvent consumption and waste volume are reduced. AflaCLEAN SMART has been validated for matrices such as peanuts, cinnamon, raisins, figs, paprika, rice, maize or pistachios and can be used for both HPLC and LC-MS/MS. In addition to manual processing AflaCLEAN SMART can be integrated into ThermELUTE workflows, enabling fast and reproducible high-throughput methods.

Additional Information

The AflaCLEAN product family is based on immobilized antibodies that specifically bind the respective aflatoxins during sample injection. Interfering matrix components are washed out, and the analytes are then eluted in a controlled manner. This makes AflaCLEAN columns fundamentally different from silica-based HPLC phases or universal SPE sorbents. The 3-mL standard columns offer high loading and matrix capacity, while the shorter SMART columns reduce solvent consumption and processing time. Storage, loading, and elution conditions depend on the specific AflaCLEAN model and the approved matrix protocol.
