Supelcogelâ„¢ are polymer-based HPLC columns, manufactured by Supelcoâ„¢ (Sigma-Aldrichâ„¢). Supelcogelâ„¢ columns are especially designed for the separation of sugars, sugar alcohols, organic acids and other fermentation products. The base material is sulfonated polystyrene-divinylbenzene with 6% cross-linking. This is available in six different cationic forms, each offering a unique selectivity for analyses of saccharides or organic acids.
Supelcogelâ„¢ C-611 contains a unique ion exchange resin containing two divalent cations, rather than one. This provides different selectivities for separating monosaccharides and sugar alcohols.
