Product Description

The HALO 400 Å C4 HPLC column 150x2.1mm, 3.4µm, is a butyl-modified phase for reverse-phase chromatography on a core-shell particle. The lower hydrophobic interactions of the HALO 400 Å C4 allow for significantly faster elution of proteins compared to the HALO ES-C18. Thanks to the 400 Å pore size, proteins can diffuse unhindered into the pores. Therefore, these phases are suitable for high-throughput or rapid chromatography of large proteins such as individual antibody chains, albumin, lysozyme, ribonuclease A, or cytochrome C. The inert stainless steel hardware also ensures that potential interactions between analytes and the stainless steel hardware are prevented.

Features and Benefits

  • Core-shell particles for fast methods
  • UHPLC performance on HPLC systems
  • High efficiency
  • Low backpressure

Additional Notes

The HALO Bioclass series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible using a standard HPLC system. Compared to the HALO series, the HALO Bioclass series features larger pores (160 Å, 400 Å, and 1,000 Å). This allows biological samples—ranging from small peptides to proteins and antibodies—to be analyzed using core-shell technology. The service life can be extended by using appropriate precolumn cartridges.
