Product Description

The PerfectChrom 100 Diol HPLC column 250x30mm, 10µm, is a diol phase that can be used in both reversed-phase and normal-phase chromatography. However, it is more commonly used in normal-phase chromatography. In this context, the PerfectChrom 100 Diol is often used as a replacement for a PerfectChrom 100 Sil. Selectivity remains comparable, but the PerfectChrom 100 Diol requires shorter equilibration times. Diol columns can be used, for example, in lipid and fat analysis, but compounds that are typically analyzed on silica—such as fat-soluble vitamins and natural products—can also be separated on a diol column.

Additional Notes

The PerfectChrom series is based on a Type A silica gel. This means that some transition metals are present in the silica framework. As a result, the silanol groups are more acidic, which can lead to different interactions compared to modern Type B silica gels. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
