Product Description
The PerfectChrom 100 CN HPLC column 250x3.9mm, 10µm, is a cyano-phase column that can be used in both reverse-phase and normal-phase chromatography. The CN group of the PerfectChrom 100 CN allows for dipole-dipole and π-π interactions. Due to the hydrophobic linker to the CN group, there are also weak hydrophobic interactions. All of these different interactions result in orthogonal selectivity for the PerfectChrom 100 CN compared to a C18 column. These phases are particularly suitable for compounds with free electron pairs or aromatic compounds, such as aldehydes, ketones, nitriles, or heterocyclic compounds.

Additional Notes
The PerfectChrom series is based on a Type A silica gel. This means that some transition metals are present in the silica framework. As a result, the silanol groups are more acidic, which can lead to different interactions compared to modern Type B silica gels. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
