The PerfectChrom 100 C6 HPLC column 150x4.6mm, 5µm, is a C6 phase for reverse-phase chromatography. The C6 modification in the PerfectChrom series falls between C4 and C8, meaning that the hydrophobic interactions also lie between those of C4 and C8. The influence of the polar silanol groups is greater compared to C8 but less so compared to C4. As a result, the PerfectChrom 100 C6 phase is suitable for the sometimes highly polar aromatic compounds found in environmental analysis and, more generally, for analytes with moderate hydrophobicity, such as pharmaceutical active ingredients or natural compounds.

Additional Notes

The PerfectChrom series is based on a Type A silica gel. This means that some transition metals are present in the silica framework. As a result, the silanol groups are more acidic, which can lead to different interactions compared to modern Type B silica gels. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
