The PerfectSil Target C8-3 column 250x4.6mm, 5µm, is an octasilyl phase (also known as OS, RP-8, C8) and is used in reversed-phase chromatography. The sophisticated end-capping protects the free silanols from interactions with bases, resulting in improved peak symmetry for basic compounds. In contrast to the PerfectSil Target ODS-3, the hydrophobicity of the PerfectSil Target C8-3 is lower, allowing for faster elution with comparable selectivity. This enables targeted acceleration of analyses. Similar to the C18, this C8 phase can be used, for example, in pharmaceutical analysis, environmental analysis, food analysis, or pesticide and residue analysis.
The PerfectSil Target series features a high-purity silica gel that undergoes a sophisticated end-capping process to achieve a purity of 99.999%. This end-capping effectively shields the surface and the free silanols, resulting in good peak symmetry for basic compounds. The use of compatible precolumn cartridges can extend the column’s service life.
