Product Description

The HALO 400Å ES-C18 HPLC column 250x2.1mm, 3.4µm, is based on an octydecylsilyl phase (also known as ODS, RP-18, C18) with isobutyl side chains on the silanes. The framework is a core-shell material. The isobutyl side chains provide pH stability up to 1. Thanks to the large pores of 400Å, large proteins, including antibodies, can diffuse into the pores without difficulty. Typical applications include, for example, IgG antibodies, mAbs, and large proteins such as ribonuclease A and cytochrome C.

Features and Benefits

  • Core-shell particles for fast methods
  • UHPLC performance on HPLC systems
  • High efficiency
  • Low backpressure

Additional Notes

The HALO Bioclass series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible using a standard HPLC system. Compared to the HALO series, the HALO Bioclass series features larger pores (160 Å, 400 Å, and 1,000 Å). This allows biological samples—ranging from small peptides to proteins and antibodies—to be analyzed using core-shell technology. The service life can be extended by using appropriate precolumn cartridges.
