The HALO 160Å PCS-C18 HPLC column 150x3.0mm, 2µm, features an octadecylsilyl modification (also known as: ODS, RP-18, C18) and also features a positively charged ligand on the core-shell particle. This positively charged ligand on the HALO PCS-C18 improves peak shape and the phase’s loading capacity for bases under MS-friendly conditions. In addition, the HALO PCS-C18 column exhibits alternative selectivity compared to HALO C18, which can be helpful for separations that cannot be achieved on the standard C18 phase. Typical applications for this phase include, for example, antidepressants, short- and long-chain PFAS, and basic compounds in general.
The HALO Series is based on a core-shell material. This means that the particles have a non-porous core and a porous shell. This allows for high efficiency while maintaining low backpressure. As a result, UHPLC performance is possible with a standard HPLC system. This makes the HALO Series an attractive option for laboratories that require maximum performance with the shortest possible retention times. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
