Product Description

General Description

The revolutionary Vaast UHPLC column 100x2.1mm, 1.7µm is the first chromatography column that can separate all 21 natural amino acid enantiomers in a single run. Special kits in powder or liquid form are available separately for amino acid derivatization.

Performance Characteristics and Advantages

  • Rapid analysis of 21 amino acids
  • Separation of all enantiomers in a single run in less than 5 minutes
  • Separation of polar, basic, acidic, and hydrophobic amino acids using a single method
  • Analysis of impurities in Fmoc-protected amino acids
  • High sample throughput using a single method

Further Information

The Vaast was specially developed for the analysis of 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate (AQC)-derivatized amino acids (also known as AccQ-Tag© from Waters). This enables the separation of 41 fully identifiable peaks by LC/MS in 5 minutes: 20 amino acids and enantiomers, plus achiral glycine. In addition to this screening, impurities in Fmoc-protected amino acid formulations can also be detected. Unprotected amino acids can be derivatized by AQC. The enantiomers of the Fmoc-protected amino acid can also be separated from each other at the same time.
