Product Description

The InertSustain AX-C18 HPLC column 250x10mm, 5µm, has two different modifications. One is an octydecylsilyl modification (also known as ODS, RP-18, C18), and the other features a tertiary amine group (AX group). As a result, the InertSustain AX-C18 exhibits both hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions. This results in alternative selectivities compared to standard C18 phases. Through targeted control of the AX groups, even acidic compounds can be eluted with greater retention under MS-friendly conditions. In addition, the surface of the silica gel is specially modified to achieve higher pH stability (1–9). Due to these different interactions, analytes that are difficult to separate on C18 phases can be analyzed on InertSustain AX-C18. Examples include nucleotide sugars, NAD+ and NADH, glyphosate and glufosinate, and antihistamines.

Additional Notes

The InertSustain series features a specially modified silica. This allows for precise control of the properties of the silica matrix. In addition, the columns exhibit high pH stability. As with the established Inertsil series, the InertSustain materials also demonstrate very high inertness toward all analytes—a phenomenon also referred to as base deactivation. Furthermore, these materials exhibit very low backpressure while maintaining high efficiencies. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
