The InertSustain Cyano HPLC column 100x20mm, 5µm, is a cyano phase (CN group) that can be used in normal-phase and reverse-phase chromatography. In addition to dipole-dipole and π-π interactions, weak hydrophobic interactions are also possible due to the propyl linker. As a result, alternative selectivities can be observed compared to C18 modifications. Thanks to a special surface modification, the InertSustain Cyano exhibits high stability, inertness, and reproducibility. Therefore, this cyano phase is suitable for all pharmacopoeia methods that require an L10 column. In addition, good peak shapes are achieved with basic compounds. Examples of applications for InertSustain Cyano include nortriptyline hydrochloride (USP), sertraline hydrochloride (USP), and tetracaine hydrochloride (USP).
The InertSustain series features a specially modified silica. This allows for precise control of the properties of the silica matrix. In addition, the columns exhibit high pH stability. As with the established Inertsil series, the InertSustain materials also demonstrate very high inertness toward all analytes—a phenomenon also referred to as base deactivation. Furthermore, these materials exhibit very low backpressure while maintaining high efficiencies. The service life can be extended by using appropriate pre-column cartridges.
