Nouryon - Kromasil
Kromasil has been a manufacturer of the traditional silica bulk material of the same name for chromatography for more than 30 years.
Since the beginning of October 2018, the traditional silica gel Kromasil for chromatography has been produced under the new company name Nouryon. The name change resulted from the sale of AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals (formerly EkaChemicals™) to The Carlyle Group. The entire manufacturing process takes place in a fully automated process on a multi-kilogram scale. This guarantees optimum reproducibility.
The Kromasil family has been divided into four ranges in recent years: Kromasil Classic, Kromasil Eternity, Kromasil Chiral and Kromasil SFC. The traditional silica gel Kromasil is now also available in particle sizes 1.7µm and 2.5µm for UHPLC. By modifying the silica, Kromasil Eternity offers longer column lifetimes and a pH range of 1-12.
Kromasil silica gel is available as bulk material in grams and kilograms for packing dynamic axial compression (DAC) columns. It is also offered by AkzoNobel pre-packed in analytical, semi-preparative and preparative columns.
The ClassicShell columns are the latest addition to the range of core-shell columns. They are based on 2.5µm solid-core particles and are available in C8 and C18 modifications and with internal diameters of 2.1mm and 4.6mm.
Attention! Kromasil shift its 21.2mm ID columns stepwise to 20mm ID. The change will be implemented item by item as the stock of the 21.2mm columns is depleted.
